I welcome you to my online homeschool journal.  Through the stories and thoughts shared here, you will get a glimpse into the lives of a real homeschool family.

I will take this time to attempt to explain a few things to you.  First, the title of this site.  Why did I name it God's Way Homeschool?  Well, not because it's an actual accredited school that other children can enroll in.  No, God's Way Homeschool is my own creation.  It came about when I was trying to think of how I desired our homeschool to be.  There are about as many ways to homeschool as there are families who choose this method of education.  And, when trying to go through the various types, and figure out which one is right for you and your children, can be very confusing.  I began thinking about serious homeschooling when my oldest son was 2.  And I kept praying for God to lead me into how to homeschool this child, and eventually his younger brother.  I wasn't really sure what "method" I wanted or needed.  But, I began teaching my son as he desired to learn. I found some things online, and one thing asked for a "school".  Well, I was homeschooling a preschooler.  I just sat and stared at that blank line for a bit.  I wasn't a "school".  I thought about this.  And all of a sudden it all hit me.  The method of education I wanted was "God's".  The way I wanted my homeschooling run was "God's Way".  And, since about 2002, my homeschool has been referred to as "God's Way Homeschool".  To the point, I have created each of my children a "year book".  Their "year book" is much like those that children buy in public school with pictures, etc.  Except my kids "year books" cover PreK-12 all in one book.  Each grade level is a divider, and memoribilia from each "school year" goes behind the divider for that grade.  On the dividers, is written a Bible Verse that pertains to that child for that year, or one that is a "Life Value".  The title of  their Yearbooks is "God's Way Homeschool".  And I hope that when each of my boys "graduates", that I will be able to take each of their books and have them leather bound with "God's Way Homeschool" embossed on the top of the cover and their name embossed at the bottom.

This  is my online journal of thoughts, feelings, ideas, and events in homeschooling. You'll find my opinions on a variety of topics, and when the spirit moves me, I may also include longer essays or entries.  I'm a woman, a mom, a wife, a teacher, and writing is a passion, so I hope that through this journal I can give the world more of an insight into homeschooling.   Some of the entries you might find a bit humorous and get a good laugh from, and some might make you scratch your head (like I did) and think "What was she thinking?".

To explore and read the entries in this journal, use the tables at the bottom of the page.  Grab yourself a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and make yourself at home as I take you through the world of homeschooling God's way.
